I am a big fan of getting to know new cultures and people around me and the only formula for me is just getting lost and enjoy the moment.

In Peru, I used to grab my things and take buses to discover new communities in the Andes or near the Amazon Forest. Being here is quite complicated to do so and when a friend of mine invited me to his home in Tiny Beach (Thanks Gould Family for the invite!), I didn't think it twice and I decided to have a road-trip up-north with Jamie, my partner in adventures 😊.

Heading there was just fun and vivid!

Tiny Beach!

On our way there, we decided to stop over at every place that we found unique and beautiful. We received some references but we had something clear: visit at least one ghost town during our trip, crazy as it sounds! -> #bucketlistbaby.

Ballicroy was the selected one. Although we expected something crazy and houses empty (#zombietown yess!), Ballicroy wasn't the right one 😪 The town isn't anymore a ghost town! Although people lives there, it isn't a big town. There is probably 10-20 houses in the main street.

The not-anymore ghost town: Ballycroy

During the trip, we stop over few places all of them crafty, unique, and full of art worth visiting, so if you head up north please pull over the car and go check these places:

1. Jelly Craft Bakery in Shelburne, Ontario

This bakery is as cute and charming as the picture, full of handmade ceramics and homemade delicatessens! The bakery is owned by a Polish family and offers the best crepes ever up north! We couldn't buy any of the ceramics but all of them are made by artisans around Shelburne. Worth the experience!

2. Hogg's Falls

If you are planning to go up north, you should stop by the Hoggs's Falls. It isn't as crowded as others falls in Ontario. The solo experience is really worth it. You can enjoy the time there hearing the sound of the falls, having a nice walk around the tall green trees, or even getting a quick bath under the falls!

3. Kimberley General Store in Kimberley, Ontario

A spot full of charming and cute gifts! We stopped for some water but what we found was CRAZY! I wish I could take more pics to share but I was just delighted and amazed by this beautiful spot. The store has everything you need for any refreshment or craving! They even offer free lemonade #thebestupnorth 💚 Don't think twice and stop by here, cash and credit card is accepted!

Watermelon refreshment!

4. Collingwood, Ontario

From Kimberley to Collingwood, the route is full of green landscapes and garage sales all the way! (Via 13 and Grey County Rd 119). Although Collingwood is one of the most crowded towns up north, its waterfront is simple, quiet, and relaxing with a mix of an industrial area, Collingwood is worth visiting for a warm stop-by to enjoy the Bahia Georgina with friends.
