If you need a calm place in the middle of such as noisy city (yup, I’m talking about Downtown Toronto), please, don’t miss the opportunity to go to Sugar Beach! Grab your bathing suit, some snacks, and create your own picnic in this beautiful spot. Get into the TTC (Tram 6 from Union Station) and get dropped off in Dockside Dr at Queens Quay East - it's only 7 minutes from there! You won’t regret it!
I know this blog is all about the greenest nature and the greenest life possible but Sugar Beach is SUGAR BEACH! And this will be all about melting of sugar while visiting this urban beach.
While walking towards this place you can see from far its sweet pink umbrellas decorating this former parking lot and smell the sweet sugar scent that comes from the Red Path Sugar Factory next to it… the sweetest thing ever!

I’ve been here five times already and I am still feeling how lovely is this spot: lovely white chairs, lovely sand (which is quite difficult to find near the Harbourfront in Toronto), lovely landscape and lovely persons around. Really cheesy but it is what it is… such a contagious place of sugar that can calm any person with its view of Lake Ontario.
I remember the first time I went there, it was with a very good friend of mine: Varinia, she was my partner in crime when I moved to Canada in the very first time. That spot, was THE spot for such long conversations about life. Then, I brought anyone that I could: Maria Rosa, Momoko and Renata! (Missing those girls!)
So, please: if you have the chance to visit Sugar Beach -> Just do it and come as earlier as possible! Bring all your friends, family, or your significant other (which I did <3) and have a blast in this neat place.
I used to go by TTC, but when I can I go with rollerblades and then hang around along all the Harbourfront! You can also do it by bike!
P.D: Just be aware that you will get tanned (for sure) but you will need to wait for swimming actions for another time, unfortunately, swimming in this urban beach is not allowed.
