In my entire life so far, I have never seen a natural spot made by humans as is the Tommy Thompson Park, although every time I'm try to wander around and find new hidden landscapes around me.
This one is just strange but beautiful and special to me… a true gem full of nature and concrete (yes, concrete!) in Toronto worth visiting!

Tommy Thompson is the proof of what humans are capable to do, to let the greenest nature be alive 💚 (which nowadays is way difficult to see so often). How? Well many years ago the Province (Ontario) decided that Torontonians deserved a green space around the hectic city so they initiated in the 70s the construction of more than 250 hectares of green nature in a former port! all man-made!

How beautiful this can be? AMAZING! Now the park it is considered as a critical habitat for wildlife in Toronto: It's like my mom used to tell me: 'If Mahoma can't go to the mountain, let's bring the mountain to Mahoma... so there you go Rocio, go bring the mountain!
Yup, so right!
When I got to know this a month or so ago. I grabbed my rollerblades and I get
there as soon as I could. I will say it is worth get a bike or some rollerblades to get there. The park is huge - really HUGE - and walking around can take more than 45 minutes. With a green transportation then you get more time to enjoy the nature and enjoy bird-watching, play rock-rock, or do some picnics around the lake.
I decided to find a solo spot to enjoy the moment. The area just surprises you, as there are a lot of concrete around - which came from the prior port - that camouflages with the nature. Yet, you can still having a quite time there and being delighted of this green man-made nature!
P.D: Note that there is a restricted access to the park and pets aren't allowed (find the photo of the time access below!)
